Church In Transition

The Minister and Diaconate recently met to review the way forward for our church here at Salendine Nook. The decision was made to move to a new flexible worship pattern, meeting socially distanced in the church building, whilst still producing our online services. If you would like to learn more about our new flexible worship pattern, please read the following documents linked here and here.

Following this change to our new flexible worship pattern, we have adjusted the name of 'Church At Home' to 'Church In Transition'.  From now on, this will be the name that will be used to refer to our church services. If you would like to view all of the Church At Home's from previous weeks, please click here.

10th January 2021

May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine on us so that your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations. May the peoples praise you, God; may all the peoples praise you. May the nations be glad and sing for joy, for you rule the peoples with equity and guide the nations of the earth. May the peoples praise you, God; may all the peoples praise you. The land yields its harvest; God, our God, blesses us. May God bless us still, so that all the ends of the earth will fear him.

This weeks service has the message provided by Peter Fairbank - (Word doc)(pdf)

3rd January 2021 - New Year Communion Service

Extol the Lord, Jerusalem; praise your God, Zion. He strengthens the bars of your gates and blesses your people within you. He grants peace to your borders and satisfies you with the finest of wheat. He sends his command to the earth; his word runs swiftly. He spreads the snow like wool and scatters the frost like ashes. He hurls down his hail like pebbles. Who can withstand his icy blast? He sends his word and melts them; he stirs up his breezes, and the waters flow. He has revealed his word to Jacob, his laws and decrees to Israel. He has done this for no other nation; they do not know his laws.
Praise the Lord.

25th December - Christmas Day

Come and join the celebration, it’s a very special day; Come and share our jubilation, there’s a new king born today!

20th December 2020 - 4th Sunday in Advent

Show us your unfailing love, Lord, and grant us your salvation.

I will listen to what God the Lord says; he promises peace to his people, his faithful servants— but let them not turn to folly. Surely his salvation is near those who fear him, that his glory may dwell in our land.

10 Love and faithfulness meet together; righteousness and peace kiss each other. 11 Faithfulness springs forth from the earth and righteousness looks down from heaven. 12 The Lord will indeed give what is good, and our land will yield its harvest.13 Righteousness goes before him and prepares the way for his steps.

13th December 2020 - 3rd Sunday in Advent

Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song. For the Lord is the great God, the great King above all gods. In his hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to him. The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land.

Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker; for he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care.

6th December 2020 - 2nd Sunday in Advent

Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits—who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

19 The Lord has established his throne in heaven, and his kingdom rules over all.20 Praise the Lord, you His angels, you mighty ones who do his bidding, who obey his word.21 Praise the Lord, all his heavenly hosts, you his servants who do his will. 22 Praise the Lord, all his works everywhere in his dominion. Praise the Lord, my soul.

29th November 2020 - Our Advent Journey Begins

We start our Advent journey this Sunday

Let the heavens rejoice and the earth exult, Let the sea roar and all the creatures in it,

Let the fields exult and all that is in them. Then let all the trees of the forest shout for joy before the Lord when he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the earth with righteousness and the peoples in good faith.
