Welcome to SNBC
SNBC is located about 2 miles North of Huddersfield town centre. We are an all age fellowship of Christians, who worship Jesus together, and who are passionate about making a positive difference in the local area and community.
If you are looking for a new church to call home, or simply looking for a one off visit; while you are in the area; then come join with us. We would love to chat with!
During the Coronavirus Pandemic, Ian, our Pastor, will be posting some thoughts, prayers and other items under the banner of Church Life - please follow this link to the relevant pages.
Important Update Message from
Salendine Nook Leadership Team
4th April 2020
As a Church here at SNBC we want to continue to keep in contact with you in the best possible way that we can in order to let you know our current thoughts and plans as we all come to terms with what continues to be a rapidly changing situation due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As a Church our thoughts and prayers go out to our local community which we serve and also the wider UK where people struggle, fear and mourn lost loved ones to this virus.
We are continuing to review guidance that is being issued by the Baptist Union and the Yorkshire Baptist Association, as well as monitor further developments including any new restrictions outlined by the Government. For us here at SNBC this means that we are still in a 'Lockdown' situation, and therefore, all activities that are directly related to Salendine Nook Baptist Church are still in a 'Suspended For The Foreseeable Future' manner.
This is not something that sits lightly or easily with us as a Church, but we do this with a heavy sense of responsibility. We understand that it will continue to raise many questions which we can't answer at the moment and we still have very real concerns about how we love and serve people during this time.
We do not want to be blasé about the severity and threat of this virus, nor do we want to be swept up in panic or fear. As Christians we believe that God is at work in every situation for the good of those who love Him, and we invite you to continue to join with us in ongoing prayer in regard to this Pandemic.
You will find on our website and Facebook page, a variety of ways in which we are trying to keep in contact with the Church here at Salendine Nook Baptist Church. Please take a look at these, and if there are any prayer requests that you might have, then please get in touch with us.
Pastoral Care - we are going to need some pastoral care in the weeks and months ahead! As members and regular attenders, we ask you to play your part. We all need to be making contact with others in the fellowship on a regular basis... to see how they are, encourage them to serve one another. This has real potential to make a hugely positive impact on our life together. In addition, the Pastoral Care Team each week will be contacting people in their groups in order to catch-up with them.
Maintaining Your Spiritual Health - We weren't designed to follow Jesus on our own! We gather together to learn, laugh, cry, care, worship and witness together because together is better, and together best reflects the nature of our God. So, this is a new time for all of us - never has worshipping life of the Church in our nation taken such a big hit. We need to find new ways of keeping spiritually fit as well as physically active. You may already know of places online where you can find spiritual help and inspiration - if so, then please use these for your ongoing spiritual growth and development.
Over time, things will change! We will try and develop ideas and ways of connecting and caring on a day by day, week by week basis. Please bear with us as we try to put things in place. We will get information out to you as soon as possible and keep the church family as well informed as possible.
Grace and peace continue to be with you all.
